Q: Who or what got you into art? Do you remember the first experience you had?

A: For as long as I can remember I have always had a knack for art. I found it to be relaxing and cool to create something on paper. I remember in middle school I used to trace the outline of my favorite cartoon characters and then attempted to draw the inside of the outline. It never came out like the real picture but I still had fun and that’s how I learned!

Q: What do your art shows consist of? How long does it take for you to prepare for these?

A: Usually my shows consist of my being set up at a table and I try to spread everything I have around that one table. I am always walking around interacting with other creatives and handing out my business cards in order to branch myself out there. The preparation takes about one week. I have to make new prints and sometimes I make bigger posters which can take a while to complete. And before every show I try to have at least two to three new pieces that no one has seen.

Q: What materials do you like to use most? Why do you like these materials compared to others?

A: I used to always draw in pencil because I thought that is what the best artists would use. But I found it way too boring for me and I was terrible with shading in graphite, still am. Now I use markers, copic markers to be exact, it is a smooth blend and once I learned how they work then the possibilities are endless. I prefer to work in color and I would not trade it for anything. I feel like I am expressing who I truly am and giving more life to my art.

Q: What is the significance of the words, faith, consistency, and hardwork, to you?

A: Faith, consistency and hard work means exactly what it says. I have faith in the lord to guide me on my journey and I have faith in myself to be the best that I can. I have to be consistent in order to get better and in order to have millions of eyes on my craft and hard work beats talent. You can be talented but if you’re not putting in the hard work to better that talent then it’s useless. You can’t get to your dream without these three characteristics

Q: What is the Barter 6 challenge? What made you decide to enter the piece you entered? How long did it take you to create this?

A: The Barter 6 challenge was a challenge created by the record label “YSL” and they wanted the fans to recreate the cover of rapper Young Thug’s album “Barter 6”. Whoever can recreate the best cover of that album would get a prize of $5,000! I entered because I wanted to push myself and the money would be great help during this pandemic. For my piece, I did not wanna steer away from the original cover but I added small things that would relate to Young Thug. It took me a couple days to complete because I had to go back and change ideas once I got better ones. Looking back at it now I would’ve done it completely differently.

Q: Would you ever want to draw animation for TV? Why or why not?

A: Drawing animations is a goal of mine. I told myself I would have an award winning animated film by the age of 35! I get a lot of ideas from anime so why not be able to create one of my own. Put my ideas out there to the world and get the same amount of love.

Q: If you could do anything with your career, what would you do?

A: I want to work for myself and be a full time artist. I want to be able to create artwork for celebrities, government officials, simply any and everyone who wants art. I want my artwork to be a show kids, teens, adults love. I do not want to stick to just one form of art.

Q: How did you learn to create a 3D effect with your artwork?

A: Simply by learning how and where to apply shadows. Whether it is in the background or on a piece of clothing. Shading is a huge must in order to get your work to really pop

Q: What was it like to give Tory Lanez one of your art pieces? What was the experience like?

A: This was by far my biggest accomplishment. Celebrities have the power to change a regular individual’s life. I met him at one of Chris Brown’s concerts and he showed a lot of love to my art. I told him one day I will make an album cover for him. That way my work can go down in history. When people listen to his or any music artist’s music, I want my art to be the first thing they see. It is a day I will never forget and I hope to get more moments like that.

Q: Who was the coolest person, in your eyes, that has inquired you about artwork?

I have not had a chance to make art for anyone with a big platform yet but I know my chance is coming, I just gotta keep my faith. I am thankful that I was able to give my artwork to three huge artists, Tory Lanez, 6lack, and H.E.R. I will never forget these moments and I pray for more!
